Spring is in the air

This weekend we enjoyed 2 things:
1. visiting with friends
2. and the wonderful weather.
There were tons of pictures but I tried to pick and choose the best ones...
Friday night began with dinner at the Koontz home. Christine and John have 3 adorable kids named Nathaniel (4), Simon (2) and then baby Josie (8 months). I think I have the ages right. The boys were asleep almost the entire time. I guess when you're that age and you've been running all day---you sometimes need to crash around 6pm. I didn't get too many photos of them but I did get some cute ones of the girls.

Saturday, was a pretty light day. I met some friends for coffee in the morning and then in the afternoon I enjoyed the lovely outdoors with Charlotte.

Then we stopped by to see Arianna and Anthony. Cute matching hats!

And here is Charlotte's first interaction with a dog of that size! Whoa baby! Look at her face. That's my girl...

And now...we see, she's really a pet person. Too bad---mommy doesn't do pets. We'll just come and visit Max when you feel the need to pet a doggy.

Well, it's been decided. Her first birthday will be lady bug theme. Here she is in her little outfit, getting ready to celebrate her very big day.

And we're done...

My little big girl

I can't believe Charlotte is almost a year old.

This weekend we had lots going on and now it feels even more busy cause she gets around and fast. My goodness! Oh and I've never had to keep my floors so clean. She finds EVERYTHING and straight in the mouth it goes! Grrrrrr

Here she is...standing (with support of course)---my next goal is to get a video of her in the process of standing up. It's sooo cute.

While I was away...

I mentioned that I was away on a conference Wed-Fri of last week. Well, I returned and all was just peachy while I was away. Raresh told me that Charlotte was a teriffic sleeper--both nights I was away she slept from 5pm-7am. That's what happens when you don't take a nap during the day. On Saturday morning, Raresh and I both witnessed our little pumpkin crawling. She's been doing the army crawl for months and now she finally got the hang of the traditional crawling. It's so cute. The very next day on Sunday, she was pulling her self up on everything. Last night, when I tried to put her to sleep, she got up and cried until I went back in there to lay her down. Apparently, she knows how to get up but not how to get down. Silly kid. I just can't believe how quickly she went from crawling to standing---okay one day!

Here's a video...

Anyway, I had a wonderful time while I was away but there was nothing as good as coming home to my sweet loving family.

There really is no place like home.

Mr. Mom

So today at 12:00pm I'm going away to Arrowhead for 3 days and 2 nights with work. It's a Leadership and Teambuilding conference/retreat with about 40 other college employees. This will be the first time I'm leaving Charlotte over night. Daddy will be taking charge for the next 3 days. I know Raresh can handle it. He's so hands on and very helpful with Charlotte but I can't help but be a little bummed. She's so little and she's so much fun right now. A 10 month old doesn't forget her mother after 3 days does she? Raresh reassured me it's all going to be okay and that she won't forget me. I asked that he show her pictures of me while I'm gone and he laughed. I'm grateful that he knows her routine. He's not going to have too many surprises because of it.

The only reason I'm looking forward to this trip is because my dearest friend in the entire world Rachel, who also happens to work at Cerritos College, is also going ---and get this...she's my roommate. How fun will that be?---You can bet there will be stories galore, lots of Scrabble matches, and endless laughter. She's the perfect person to go with---because she won't let me get too home sick. Mija--get ready for some serious memory making!

Still---I already miss my little love bug. Charlotte, mommy loves you very much and I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time with your daddy. Honey--you are so amazing. Thank you for making me feel so comfortable about going. You seriously get the hubby of the year award---AGAIN!

I'll report how things went when I get back, Friday at 4:00pm. Hope we don't get snowed in---cause you can bet that I'll insist they air lift me out!
